It's kind of wild that media companies only hate piracy because they can't make money off popular content if everyone can access it. It doesn't mean people won't pay for it (and that's usually what the MPAA exists to protect: shareholders, not the workers). Something to look into.

They even had actors and commercials against it (scabs, tbh). Shit, back in the day, CABLE was considered piracy because media companies couldn't sell access to episodes individually (and look at what happened). Lol, it's really again an issue of capitalism.
