Conventionally, trying to "ship" something for the sake of novelty in the realm of building products in this capitalist landscape should merit some research and foresight. It seems like crypto games, it's mainly to copy what were some of the most abusive tactics in history and make them "play-to-earn". This is gross.
I do think it was necessary. And I really hope it was a wake up call for those peddling it as the new solution. https://twitter.com/bitandbang/status/1525163234159886341
Once in a while, I'd think about how we could house and feed everyone in the world, but we spend more money on war, convincing people that luxury levels are a “thing” we should aim to have/go for and that it's always a good idea to take from people versus working with them. Thanks, Adam Smith and Satoshi Nakamoto, y'all done so much “good” for the world.
On Crypto
Perfect points made in this piece.
Crypto's for "capitalists who despise workers and self-hating workers that desperately want to become capitalists". That sums it up just about right. https://redsails.org/on-crypto/
If you work in crypto, you're working in inequality by design. But hey, get “rich”! Mint all the things! Exacerbate the wealth of the initial coin holders for the sake of “no banking”! Expensive gas fees are way better than instant card transactions! https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/31/opinion/crypto-nfts-inequality.html
Now I have even more reason to delete Instagram. https://www.engadget.com/mark-zuckerberg-confirms-nf-ts-are-coming-to-instagram-204435805.html. I have a backup of what I want, just need to backfeed.
