Compromise with people who commit and carry out hideous acts requires a minimal number of future casualties that you have to “accept”. I think “accepting” that is also excusing the behavior. It'd be more consistent to not concede altogether.

It's easy - so much easier - to compromise. There are times when it is quite literally out of your current dimensional ability to concede. Like if you're part of the 99%, you cannot solve world hunger. But there are things on a small scale that we can do. We can refuse to let up, talk about active solutions, donate to causes and overall build community to help people discover a place/resource to find/get help should the situation ever arise for it.

Engagement is powered by Webmentions — a premier standard of the Web to let other sites know you've mentioned them. I currently aim to own my comments and plan to eventually show those I've received once I finish Lighthouse.
