We need self-certifying HTTP, such that if I give you a URL you can fetch the object referred to by that URL from a server neither of us trusts and know it's correct.

This must be supported directly by browsers.

This smells like some sort of thing we could stuff in a header (like a checksum or some sort of micro-signature value) but I'm sure that's been attempted
